I think “traditional” wedding seem horrible.
Now its time for the father/bride dance.
now its time for the chicken dance. now its time to cut the cake.
I have always thought a beach wedding or maybe at a vineyard would be cool.
I actually just saw this picture. and it made my skin crawl.

Well, first off, traditional weddings are not necessarily one type of wedding. That is a picture of a formal seated dinner at a wedding reception. If you don’t like that idea, that’s fine-have it at the beach & have it more casual! Nothing at all wrong with that.
As far as the timeline and traditions normally involved in a wedding, you don’t have to incorporate any or all of the traditions you listed; that is totally your choice. However, don’t knock a little organization! Organizing and planning are done for weddings so that they seem spontaneous and simple. No matter what elements and happenings you choose to include in your day, I still advise at least someone having a rough plan for when things should happen. For example, if you had 100 people at the wedding, you bought cake or dessert for 100 people, and then you and your fiance just “winged” it on the reception with no order or forethought, here’s what could happen: You could have 100 people eating, visiting, then standing around waiting on you two to cut the cake, they get fed up and go home & you are stuck having paid for a cake no one ate & that you have to deal with now.
Most of the grooms I deal with are very surprised by all the planning involved; they thought it all just happened spontaneously. Even if you are against the timeline, there are reasons most people use them; it’s to make sure the guests are comfortable and enjoying everything, and also to make sure that all the things happen before the time is up at the site.
